Ryan Martz
President
Ryan is responsible for charting Fire & Pine’s path forward, evolving our objectives, and fulfilling our core values. He works with the Creative Director and Foreman to flesh out new product concepts and company initiatives. He coaches the department leads and foremen and leads the sales team.
Originally from Ohio, Ryan and his wife Jessica moved to the Lowcountry in 2010. They welcomed a son, Kieran, in 2016. Ryan enjoys traveling whenever possible, catering to friends and family at his annual Martz Meat Fest cookout event, and listening to his favorite Canadian Lumberjack folk band, The Wakami Wailers.

As our VP/Creative Director, Ryan is in charge of developing new product lines, refining existing ones, and coaching our department leads and foremen. He is also part of our sales team.
The back to back Time Magazine “Man of the Year” honorable mention hopeful Ryan Lanzel and his better half enjoy spending time hiking and biking with their three Aussies. A hockey fan originally hailing from the great white north (of Pennsylvania), his interests include Canadian lumberjack folk music, sniping biscuits top shelf, and occasionally shredding the gnar.
Rick Seibel
Controller
Fire & Pine's Controller is responsible for our financials, invoicing, and data analysis. He also works on our ordering systems and is a main point of contact with many of our wholesale clients.
Rick was born and raised in the Pittsburgh, PA area and is still very proud of his Pittsburgh roots. He is alway interested in continuous learning and is currently working towards his masters in professional accounting. When he is not working or learning, you may find him sampling craft beer, slapping the bass and ripping slappers or stacking the pads in a game of hockey.
Samantha Shaneyfelt
Brand Ambassador - Consumer
Fire & Pine's Consumer Brand Ambassador is the main point of contact for individual buyers, questions related to single piece orders, and all of our social media content. She is also part of our sales team and helps develop new ways to introduce our products to more people.
Sami recently moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Bluffton, SC. She wishes to further her education and pursue her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is very close with her family, despite them being hundreds of miles away. Sami has a passion for: music, dance, and binge watching tv.
Ciara Stanley
Brand Ambassador - B2B
Fire & Pine's Business to Business Brand Ambassador is the main point of contact for wholesale customers. She provides customer service, inputs orders, and is part of the sales team as well. She has numerous other responsibilities and wears many hats.
Born and raised in Beaufort, SC. Categorized as a Yebel, half Yankee on mom's side and Rebel on the other. Ciara has 2 fur babies Beef- a pitbull and Lucifer- a Siamese cat. They are her children. Ciara enjoys fashion and makeup and is constantly inspired by the world around her to make things fun and creative.
Dillon Tate
Foreman
The Foreman is in charge of the entire production process. He sets the tone while relying on his assistant foremen for day-to-day operations.
After living in 6 different states, Dillon Tate finally settled down in Bluffton, SC. He and his beautiful wife, Nichole are the proud parents of Camden and Teagan. Dillon enjoys spending time outside, riding bikes with his family, and cracking bad jokes.
Travis Schramm
Quality Control Lead
The Quality Control lead is in charge of the team that inspects every piece that goes through the production process at multiple stages. He documents any damages and works on ways to mitigate loss.
Travis was born and raised here in Beaufort South Carolina. I enjoy riding the back roads of the low country on my Harley spending time with family and my pit bull Beef.
Logen Hendrix
Department Lead (Woodworking)
Our Woodworking Lead is in charge of a team of woodworkers that take raw lumber and use various tools and machines to create perfect boards that are ready to be coated and painted.
Logan Hendrix (often mistaken for Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson) is a local and native to Beaufort, having attended Beaufort High School before joining the army. Upon returning to his hometown he welcomed a son in September of 2021. He enjoys long walks on the beach and ice cold showers in the dark. Was previously addicted to the hokey pokey but he turned himself around.
Brandon Tredway
Department Lead (Distribution)
Our Distribution Lead is responsible for leading his team in packaging and quickly shipping out completed orders.
Brandon moved down to South Carolina from Virginia in 2012. Brandon played lacrosse in High School and College, he enjoys going out with friends and being around family.
Thomas Beckett
Assistant Foreman (Post-Fabrication)
The Post-Fabrication Foreman is responsible for the teams taking the painted boards and turning them into the final product. His departments include lasers, wash, branding, hardware, and distribution.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Thomas moved to South Carolina at the age of 5, Him and his wife Jennifer got together in 2013. Welcoming their kids Emma, Delilah and Hadley over the years. Thomas enjoys hunting, fishing, mudding and quality time with his family. He loves country music. Enjoys cook outs with his family.
Cristin Barna
Order Manager
Our Order Manager is in charge of pulling and tagging orders and their corresponding painted wood boards. She then sends them to the laser department to be burned. She is also the main point of contact for order status and lead time outlook.
Cristin joined our team in October 2016 after spending 6 years staying home with her 3 children, Maddi, Sydney, and Logan. Cristin was raised in the Lowcountry and is raising her family in the place she calls home. In her free time Cristin has tried to take up fishing, but she has earned the nickname "grim reaper of fishing" because not only can she not catch a fish to save her life, the best fisherman wouldn't catch anything if fishing alongside her.
Doug McCarthy
Lead Designer
The Lead Designer is in charge of most of our beautiful artwork designs. He also creates most of our custom artwork for folks looking for something that is 100% unique.
Doug McCarthy is another yankee transplant here in the South, arriving in 2015. Doug is a proud husband, and father of a beautiful baby girl, Greyson. A musician at heart, he also loves being creative in all facets of his life. Doug has seen his fair share of the world and all roads and experiences have brought his to where he is today.
Linda Fischer
Department Lead (Wash, Brand, and Hardware)
The Wash/Brand/Hardware Lead is responsible for managing our team that takes the dirty and charred piece of wood from the laser team and pretties it up. They work with Quality Control to make sure pieces look great and be passed along to distribution.
Originally from New Jersey, Linda and her family moved to the low country in 2011. Linda has two daughters and a son. She welcomed her first and only granddaughter in 2019. She enjoys spending time with her family and four dogs.
Tom Boland
Assistant Foreman (Pre-Fabrication)
Our Pre-Fabrication Foreman is in charge of the teams taking our raw wood and making into beautifully milled and painted boards ready to burn artwork. His departments include woodworking and coatings
A former executive chef/restaurateur, Tom is from Michigan. He enjoys cooking for family, his wife Adriana and son Liam, and enjoys hosting dinner parties. He and his wife also cook for her church and give out meals for folks in need.
Whitney Zech
Department Lead (Lasers)
Our Laser Lead is the head of her team of laser operators. She manages efficiencies, machine upkeep, and helps with creating new concepts and designs.
How to brew the perfect cup of Japanese sencha
Rinse and dry both tea pot and cup. Use 1 heaping teaspoon of whole tea leaves per 4 ounces of water. With a kettle bring the water up to 150-160° Fahrenheit. Gently pour the heated water into the tea pot and steep your leave for 30 seconds to a couple of minutes, depending the the strength of tea you prefer. Strain and enjoy your freshly brewed cup of Japanese sencha.
